Prussian Blue/Tara Lake

2012, video, 17m20s

Prussian Blue/Tara Lake is an investigative film exploring the nuance of cross-sensory observation and sound. The film juxtaposes a prompt from a drawing exercise for the obsessive observation of water from John Ruskin’s 1857 book, Elements of Drawing using water collected from Lake Tara/Lake of compassion in western Tibet with film clips of world globes, hand held and examined in various contexts.

The juxtaposition is coded with sound specific to the actions seen, not seen and the sound work of Katherine Trimble. Edited by Allen West.
